2022 Update

Folks, I just want to say hi and explain a little bit why I have been absent for the last two years or so. First, I am still subscribed to the RSS feed of current changes, and saw that the spam filter I created still works very well. Then, the big C took away much of my attention. Then my mother ended her life over the practical torture we all were submitted to. Then this literally broke my heart and I had a serious operation this spring from which I am still recovering, but I am much better now. I hope you are all well, this post was triggered by that I saw Petri posting in the comments of the recent MoA article. CE (talk) 22:00, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

Good to have you back, too few of us here, and there is a war which is taking worst possible shape, with little any one can do about --Resup (talk) 22:59, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi!
P.S. - We had one of the best pages on the web on the big C. I lost interest on new year's eve 2021/2022, when Omicron made me immune. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 00:52, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi CE, hope you're doing ok now. Grateful I can contribute to this resource you created. --Diagonal (talk) 15:10, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Thanks folks, I'm glad that you are keeping the place alive. I'm not sure if I will participate more in the next future, as I have still some unpleasant meatspace things to deal with, but personally I am fine and just thought it was a good opportunity to say hi and indicate that I am still alive and kicking! :o) --CE (talk) 18:09, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

Taking a break with the news

FTR, some might already have noticed that I have been sloppy with the Syria news lately. Not much is happening anyway, fortunately, and I just can't bring myself to following it daily atm. So I decided to take a break until the end of the year unless something extraordinary happens. Will still keep an eye on those nasty little spammers, though. ;o) --CE (talk) 16:38, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Tim Anderson suspended from University

Q, Tim Anderson, any comments? I am unfamiliar with his Syria work, on the first glance it seems somewhere in the reasonable range. His use of swastika, in my view indefensible (I saw the context of use, still). But the impression is that there was a long history (of trying to find a fault), until a fault was found, and overall, was all of that faultfinding reasonable. The answer is probably no, but difficult to defend against. Probably not something I would take on doing, because of a personal aversion to doing it. --Resup (talk) 17:11, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

I have not followed this, just read today that a petition to reinstate him was deleted by the petition hosting site. What I know about Anderson is positive, and I'm unaware of any swastikas. --CE (talk) 18:43, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Blocking Record?

If there's an award for most spam accounts blocked, I'll nominate you. FWIW, I never was against closed membership, but if you've got the gate while I'm sleepin, etc. OK, cool. And best wishes. --Caustic Logic (talk) 09:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Seen that move? 24 Zombies in less than two minutes! Now everybody seems to be afraid of posting. ;oD --CE (talk) 19:18, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

Any Zombie ApoX here now? 'm quarantined ? -- Coming in hordes , like yesterday is tomorrow. --Resup (talk) 19:14, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Well, after I fought off the local virtual zombie apocalypse a month ago, I thought that topic would be through, but it seems there has developed another virtual zombie apocalypse in meatspace due to people watching fear porn day and night despite what the science says after we have collected at least some data. From Monday on, I will have to wear a "face mask" while shopping or riding the bus against all recommendations of national and international health bodies. Just because the frightened sheeple demand it while shops and schools are reopening. Fortunately the authorities here are relatively sober and announced that any scarf or whatever covers your face will do. So I went to the basement and unearthed a huge light-gray scarf from my punk-gothic teenage days 30 years ago which sports a very nice pattern of white spiderwebs with skulls sitting in them. Looking forward to wearing it. --CE (talk) 19:48, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, missed those finals, thks! As for the "meatspace", I steer pro-totalitarian on the issue, 1 % in the modern world is too many (plus would not work well for those I care). Maybe knowing that control is way stricter, orders of magnitude, in Russo-China would be of some relief to you; in addition to a contribution to reducing transmissions. (No fear on my part; was there in the pasty; maybe another rerun would feel kind of ridiculous). --Resup (talk) 21:39, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm actually running around with a self-created, printed-out QR-Code I show to people('s cell phone cameras) of this website (the German and original version in my neighbourhood, obviously) which is in my opinion the best informational advice to give to people who have the intellectual capacity to evaluate facts. --CE (talk) 21:56, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
