“Additionally, in spring of 2016 the research team after painstaking detective work on social media found two new photos” - JIT video, streamed live on Sep 28, 2016 (current/above photo)
"JIT: Flight MH17 was shot down by a BUK missile from a farmland near Pervomaiskyi", JIT, 28 September 2016
(Given that Ukraine/SBU is a member, Russia is not, is it surprising that such 'social media photo' is 'found'? Appears to be unknown prior to that).
See also a photo definitely made on a prior day, from the same place, here on file as well, below-- Andrey Tarasenko, @andrushka74 (now @parabellum_ua), posted 5:37 AM - 15 Jul 2014.
Tarasenko also posted, possibly filmed, an early crash video, here, more discussion whathappenedtoflightmh17, October 1, 2016

Clearly strongly anti-Novorossian/anti-Russian, with several apparently Nazi-admiring posts, 'Magic Lviv', April 20, 1889 a famous Austrian artist was born (=Hitler); Bengali ('Aryan') font ised in @andrushka74 header.
- Tarasenko is closely connected to @WowihaY who posted the other plume photo. (cannot remember how they are connected.) -- Petri Krohn (talk) 08:54, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
(Another Andrey Tarasenko is a Right Sector leader, FWIW)
