Between December 4 and 6, 2011, the background of daily atrocities by disputed parties across the pivotal city of Homs clearly spiked, leaving the kind of shocking death toll - and death character - that grabs world attention somewhat. Of note is the opposition-acknowledged sectarian aspect, where anti-government hot-head Sunnis were responsible for at least some of the killings, which were of local Alawite civilians. But really the whole picture is even more in question than this, and luckily there are some specifics we can work with to start something of an investigation here at ACLOS, which has been started on the discussion page.
